Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

  BLOG BADGE_1500

This month we have 80 Consultants featuring the September Stamp of the Month, Family is Forever, a set of 7 stamps.  This stamp set is only available during the month of September.  Place an order of $50 and get the Stamp of the Month for just $5.

2014 - September SOTM - Family is Forever

If you have come here from Donna Digby’s Blog you are on the right path! If you get lost along the way you can find the complete list on Melinda’s Blog here.

I created a simple card for the make-n-take for my All-Day Crop this month.

SOM 09 Family is Forever (1)

One of my new favorite techniques is applying two ink colors to a stamp and THEN stamping it on your paper.  And that’s what I did here.  I inked the entire tree with Desert Sand and then just sponged daubed the leaves with Olive Ink.

SOM 09 Family is Forever (2)

I stamped the tree again in Goldrush Ink and just cut out the hearts to apply on top with 3-D Foam Tape.

I finished the card off by matting my stamped image with a piece from the Pathfinding paper collection (X7186B) and just a few of the Durables Triangles (Z1928) to embellish.

Now it is time to hop over to Morgan Vogt’s Blog to see what she has created!

Thanks for stopping by.

Card Class–Scaredy Cat

So apparently this class doesn’t get any love and barely gets posted to my blog.  Well, I’m trying my hardest to be more consistent and this is the first step.

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (1) - Smaller

I have to admit that I am so excited about how these cards turned out.  I was proud of myself, if I do say so.

Each month I am going to use a different paper collection for all 3 of my classes.  I asked my club members what kind of cards they wanted to make and if they wanted to use the Scaredy Cat paper.  The biggest response that I got back was that they love the Scaredy Cat paper, but don’t send Halloween cards.  So my goal was to NOT make all 4 of these cards Halloweeny – and I think I accomplished it.

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (9)

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (10)

The dot paper with the stars was so easy for birthday and don’t you just love the Colonial White Ink on Black cardstock effect.  I used the new You Mean The World To My stamp set (B1467), which is quickly becoming a favorite.

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (7)

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (8)

I love purple and silver for elegant cards.  I heat embossed the sentiment with our Silver Embossing Powder.  The stamp set used on this card is called Look To The Light (B1428).  Scriptures from the bible that praise God – enough said.

Cards - CTMH Scaredy Cat (2)

Of course I had to make some of them with our super cute new Halloween stamps.  This card uses the Trick or Treat Sweets (B1460) and Frightfully Fun (B1453) stamp sets.  They are so cute!

Last, but not least, and probably my favorite “if the broom fits, ride it”.  For some reason this stamp set, Halloween Greetings (D1605), just popped out at me in the Idea Book.  I LOVE it!!!

You too can join me in making these cards.  Even if you aren’t local, I can put together a kit for you and mail it directly to you.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Cricut Artbooking–“Halloween” Layout

My year of Artbooking classes is coming to a close – there are only 3 classes left and here’s the next one.

Artbooking Class 09 (1) - Smaller

I have to give a special shout-out to Dana Kessler and Christine Adams for their inspiration with this page.

I don’t have a close-up picture of the cat, but take a close look at her collar.  That’s right it’s purple shimmer trim.  The tiniest little piece.  But she needed some sparkle.

Artbooking Class 09 (2)

I think the house is so cool looking.  It’s just simply cut out of black cardstock and backed with Honey cardstock in the windows.  Then pop it up with some 3-d Foam Tape.  So cool!

Artbooking Class 09 (4)

The bats that came out of this moon cut were sponged with Archival Black Ink before adhering to the page.  Oh and back the moon with black cardstock and 3-D foam tape.  Have you noticed there’s a theme here. (3-D Foam Tape)

Artbooking Class 09 (3)

This is probably my favorite effect.  Cut the title twice and offset it.  Thank you Christine Adams for this one!

Remember all cuts are from the Cricut Artbooking collection

You can create this page by joining me at my next Cricut Class, Saturday, September 20 at 9am in my studio in Amelia, VA.

Cost is $10 if you own the Artbooking cartridge. Simply bring your Cricut, Artbooking Cartridge Bundle, and I'll supply the rest and walk you through the cuts.

Cost is $20 if you don't own the Artbooking cartridge, because I'll cut all of your pieces for you ahead of time.

Leave a comment or contact me to attend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook Club–Pathfinding

So the new Idea Book is here and the first collection that I am playing with is called Pathfinding.  If you love fall colors and themes then this is the collection for you.

Pathfinding Pages 1&2 - Smaller

Each of the Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go Kits uses the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to create titles, accent pieces, embellishments, and more of each of the 2 pages.

Pathfinding Close-Ups (2)

Pathfinding Close-Ups (3)

I love this overlay cut that is used under the journaling sentiment.

Pathfinding Close-Ups (1)

In addition to the products that come in the Pathfinding Workshop on the Go Kit I added the My Crush Wildwood Clips (Z2047) to my pages.

Pathfinding Pages 3&4 - Smaller

I also wanted to try and use a special tool or technique on the pages that CTMH didn’t do. So I used the Woodgrain Embossing folder to emboss just 2 pieces of cardstock on each layout.  Can you see it?

Pathfinding Close-Ups (7)

I bet you can now.  What a fun look and texture it adds to the pages.  I just love it.

Pathfinding Close-Ups (4)Pathfinding Close-Ups (5)Pathfinding Close-Ups (6)

As always, you can choose to buy the Workshop on the Go Kit which includes the stamp set and embellishments or just get the paper and choose what embellishments you want to purchase.  The choice is up to you.

I used the embellishments that came in the Workshop on the Go Kit and added the My Crush Wildwood Clips.

So who wants to join in the fun?

Thursday, September 11 at 6:30pm

Sunday, September 14 at 2pm

Cost starts at just $25 and includes a full paper packet (you'll have leftovers) and 2 of the embellishments needed to complete the pages.
But, remember you choose how much you want to spend and purchase only the embellishments and tools that you want.

Register by Thursday, August 21

If you can't make it to the workshop, simply purchase the Pathfinding Workshop On The Go Kit and I'll include my instructions for both layouts for free.

Mark you Calendar for upcoming Scrapbook Club Dates:

October 9 & 12

November 6 & 9

Items of Business–wait I mean FREE Product!!!

Hello everyone!  I know it has been a while since I have posted because I am feverishly working to keep my head above water.  I have been creating new projects, teaching new classes, and hosting Open Houses for the 1st time.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is starting to come into view.

Mystery Hostess Winner

Anyway, I know you are all anxiously waiting to find out who is the winner of the Idea Book Celebration Mystery Hostess Party.  Well, the great news is that we had one more order come in at the last minute which put us over the next level of Hostess Rewards. So the winner is going to get $60 in free product and 1 item at 50% off.  Last night I had my husband draw the winner from all of those that were entered and without further delay, drum roll please …………..…………………………….

Darline Wilder

you are the Hostess and winner of free product. (Darline, I will send you a separate email with all of the details.)

Marker Trade Up

As many of you know, we had some quality control issues with our previous alcohol markers over the last 2 years, so this year we are replacing them with the well known, high quality ShinHan Touch Twin Alcohol Markers. I have used them on a few projects so far and am very pleased. They are ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand and have both a fine point and broad tip. Even though colors are not CMTH specific, they are gorgeous and I will provide a handy chart (designed by fellow consultant Ellen Jarvis) to show CTMH coordinating colors for each ShinHan color.

ShinHan Marker Image

Since I feel so strongly about the quality of these new markers and so badly about the experience that you had with our old alcohol markers, if you purchased the previous CTMH alcohol markers from me, you can trade them in for the NEW markers! The previous markers sold in a two-pack for $5.95 each. The new markers are $5.95 each. Trade in your old two-pack for a NEW ShinHan marker of your choice! There are 24 colors to choose from!

For those that didn't purchase the previous ones or want to hold on to them, I have another special for you! For every 5 new markers you purchase, you can choose one of the Mini Stamp Sets FREE! Many of these mini stamps are perfect for coloring in with the new markers!
